ForeTrans for sending encrypted Patient details to the medical transcriptionists, for Fore Transcriptions Inc.

“ForeTrans” is a family of modules which facilitate the transfer of Voice Files for transcription purposes via FTP. “ForeTrans” was developed for M/s Fore Transcriptions Inc. – our clients based in El Paso, Texas, USA. Doctors make their visits to their patients and dictate the patients’ progress on portable recorders; at the end of the day they connect these recorders to the PC and the ForeTrans module upload them to secure FTP sites from where the Medical Transcriptionists (MTs) download the files. Since these voice files contain confidential information, they are encrypted using the RC4 algorithm with a 128-bit key. The MTs have a module for decrypting these voice files which they use after downloading the encrypted files. After the files are transcribed, the MTs then encrypt the files using the ForeTrans Encryption module and then upload them back to the same FTP Server from where the doctors can download and decrypt them.

ForeTrans also has a Manager Module which is used by the Administrator at Fore Transcriptions, Inc. and which holds the information about the various Clinics where the different instances of the ForeTrans modules are installed.

The next version of ForeTrans is customizable and will also cater to Lawyers, apart from the doctors.
